Spiced Tomato Ketchup Recipe

Mowi Scottish Salmon Fillets


  • 50g Demerara sugar
  • 50ml Cider vinegar
  • A pinch of Salt
  • A pinch of Ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp (1g) Ground coriander
  • ½ tsp (1g) Cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp (2.5g) Smoked paprika
  • 200g Ripe tomatoes – diced
  • 200g Tomato passata


  1. Place all the ingredients into a saucepan and bring to the boil. Reduce to a simmer and place a lid on the pan. Cook for 30 minutes, stirring frequently. For the last 5 minutes of cooking, remove the lid to thicken the sauce slightly
  2. For smooth ketchup place the sauce into a blender and blitz
  3. Once the ketchup has cooled down, cover and place in the fridge. Leave overnight before using
  4. Serve as an alternative sauce for salmon burger, or simply with grilled salmon, sweet potato fries and corn on the cob
